LOVE IN SHAKESPEARE WORKSHOP

LOVE IN SHAKESPEARE WORKSHOP
Saturday 7 February
Black Swan Theatre, 3-5pm
Tickets: £7

Explore how love is written, spoken, and embodied in Shakespeare’s plays, from the iconic balcony scene in Romeo and Juliet to the epic passion of Antony and Cleopatra.

Through close reading, discussion and practical performance exercises, this workshop examines how Shakespeare presents romance, desire, power, and conflict — and how actors and directors bring these emotions vividly to life on stage.

Led by theatre director Joseph Ballard, a professional director and actor with extensive Shakespeare credits, including work with the Royal Shakespeare Company, the session is welcoming, insightful, and hands-on.

Ideal for:
Actors, students, writers, teachers, anyone who wants to try acting with a themed start; and anyone with a passion for Shakespeare or great love stories — no previous experience required.

Places are limited, please book early.

We have a small car park ourselves and Bank Loke car park is just next door – just one minute away! Parking is free after 6pm. We are a 10 minute walk from North Walsham train station and 200 yards away from the town centre, tucked in down Black Swan Loke.
We have an accessible toilet and baby changing facilities in the theatre.
Sometimes we open the bar inside the theatre and you are always welcome to buy a drink from the pub and bring it over.
The pub and theatre are both us! That means your ticket purchase and any drinks or food you buy in the pub helps support our community projects.

The pub
The Black Swan Pub and Theatre is all run as a social enterprise. We’re very proud of our community pub where everyone feels welcome. The pub is a separate building itself, opposite the theatre just across the Loke.
