We’re ideally placed in the centre of town, with our own car park and the public car park just next door.
Our theatre has hosted a variety of events so far:

We hire out our different spaces (the theatre, wellbeing room or the pub) for different activities from meetings to parties, events and classes. We’re located in North Walsham town centre with our own free parking (limited numbers) and Bank Loke car park (free after 6pm) just next door.

We are very proud of our spaces – from the theatre (in a separate building opposite the pub) to our lovely pub itself. The place has been tastefully decorated throughout (by volunteers we may add) and our theatre is even more user-friendly and suitable for multi-use purposes for different groups and needs. We’ve got some information here but you are best to get in touch or pop in and have a chat and a look for yourself!

The theatre

The Black Swan Theatre is an adaptable space. All the chairs and furniture can be moved around to create an open space for classes or a meeting or for an event or party.
Theatre style: seats 90 (in rows)
Cabaret style: seats 60 (around tables)

Our theatre is in a separate building, next to the pub. This means you and your participants don’t even need to go in the pub to access your activity or event (even though our pub is lovely with a welcoming atmosphere for all). The theatre has it’s own bar and toilets (including accessible toilet and baby changing rack).

The hire rates depend on the type of event or activity you are running. We have hourly rates of hire and some sessional and day rates.

We have different sets of tariffs:
• community groups and local causes
• corporate hires (meetings and events)
• parties and events
• theatre shows are usually on a box office split deal rather than set hire, so you become part of our What’s On listings
• we also have set fees for evenings after 7pm

We’re open about our fees, and remember that all your custom supports our community projects in the theatre!

Technical assistance and opening the bar will be quoted depending on the requirements for music and lighting.
Discretionary rates may be applied – we want to support classes and community activity – we’ll do our best to accommodate you!

Catering and buffets

We can cater for all different types and needs from party buffets, children’s parties, 3-course set menus and hot buffet options. We proudly use locally sourced ingredients whenever we can and we’re also proud of our Level 5 hygiene rating for our kitchen and catering.

Parties

Our venue in the town centre, is easily accessible and is very adaptable from formal events to parties (children’s birthdays and all ages) to wedding receptions, anniversary parties, wakes, engagement parties… the lot!

Our theatre is a great space for a party!
• Capacity for up to 100 people
• Party/disco lights and full sound system
• Cabaret seating with dance floor and stage
• Exclusive bar and toilets
• Food menus, buffets or specific refreshments can be prepared.
• Full technical support can be provided with lighting, sound and projection.

In the pub

Our lovely pub can also host your event. We have a space at the back of the pub suitable for smaller gatherings, meetings and drinks and nibbles etc.
