Film: People’s Emergency Briefing
Tue 3 November @ 6:30 pm

People’s Emergency Briefing: a film event with Professor Rupert Read, followed by Q&A
Tue 3 November, 6.30pm at the Black Swan Theatre. FREE
The climate is changing faster than our plans account for. This isn’t about distant ice caps. It’s about what’s coming for towns like ours, and whether we’re ready.
The film is based on the National Emergency Briefing in Westminster (featured by ITV, Channel 4 and The Times) with appearances from Chris Packham, Deborah Meaden and a range of voices from across the UK.
Join philosopher and climate expert Rupert Read for an evening that starts with a practical workshop on facing the climate and nature emergency, moves into a screening of the acclaimed People’s Emergency Briefing film, and closes with a live Q&A — your chance to ask what it means for towns like ours. All welcome — no expertise or any party membership needed. Just an open mind.
Doors 6pm, event at 6.30pm (workshop then film), followed by a Q&A. Film run time: 50 mins.

Rupert Read is a Philosopher and Climate expert.
He is co-director of the Climate Majority Project and Emeritus Professor of Philosophy at the University of East Anglia. He is the author of books including This Civilisation is Finished, Why Climate Breakdown Matters and Transformative Adaptation – Another World is Still Just Possible.
An event brought to you in partnership with North Norfolk Green Party, Climate Majority Project and People’s Emergency Briefing.
